Taking place in the surroundings of this charming little town on the banks of the River Charente is one of the biggest events dedicated to wine in the Poitou-Charentes Region of France. La Foire aux Vins (The Wine Fair) unites wine connoisseurs, both amateur and professional, together with local, regional and national produce in Saint Savinien sur Charente and really should not be missed.
Last year alone, there were 77 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors
From the very beginning, our wish has been for others to be able to taste and compare wines direct from the producers of all the wine producing regions of France, and to discover delicious gastronomic produce in what has now become a veritable “fete for the palette”. Each August, for many years now, we have been pleased to invite all those who share our love of good food to come and join us. A warm and easy-going atmosphere reigns supreme in the streets of our small town of Saint-Savinien”. You’ll find Saint-Savinien in the “Douce Saintonge” region of the Charente-Maritime, which in itself is one of the most visited regions of France.
